At the weekend we decided to treat ourselves to some healthy breakfast meals! We don’t usually eat breakfast during the week so this was a lovely treat at the weekend.
In our previous blog post we mentioned about winning a competition and receiving all 3 granola flavours from Granola for Gangsters:
- Fig, Walnut and Vanilla
- Orange, Date and Cardamom
- Almond, Cranberry and Pistachio
This weekend we tried the Fig, Walnut and Vanilla flavour first!
Fig, Walnut and Vanilla Flavour:
All ingredients are 100% natural, gluten free and vegan friendly. This is a great mix of the crunchy cooked granola alongside juicy soft fig pieces and a slight light crunch to the walnut.
Our Initial Review After:
We added our granola to natural Greek yogurt and topped with sliced banana. This was a lovely and healthy meal but was very bland. With the granola being natural ingredients they don’t have a great deal of flavour and neither goes natural Greek yogurt but this made the meal very healthy. Adding the banana gave the meal that extra bit of favour it needed.
Overall rated 75% this comes 2nd out of the 3 flavours but this was down to the bland taste but the granola was lovely and crunchy. The bland taste can soon be overlooked by what you add to it as this granola can be delicious!
We also added the granola to vanilla flavoured yogurt which was beautiful. Granola giving it a crunch and the soft sweet yogurt which was a perfect mix. We definitely recommend!
Next time we are going to try adding different fruits to give it a sweeter taste and add some more colour to our meal.
